FRIENDSGIVING 2019
From Shresh's POV
During his San Francisco days, Dev's roomie/my friend threw a Friendsgiving bash. Dev got a last-minute invite but had prior commitments. Before dashing off, he made a brief cameo, meeting the guests, myself included (Shresh), then vanished into the night with his buddy Davis. Hours later, Dev reappeared and invited us to his twinkly deck for some liquid fun. The plot thickens when the lone snapshot from that night surfaced months later, capturing yours truly begging for a top-up.
SUMMER 2020
From Shresh & Dev's POV
Summer 2020 was a whirlwind in the quirky streets of San Francisco. Our motley crew of pals formed a tight-knit bubble, whipping up feasts, clinking glasses, battling it out in board games, and diving into movie marathons. Amidst all the fun, some unexpected sparks started to fly.
Picture this: During one epic game night, after a winning streak, Shresh made a bold move on Dev. With her impending move to London, she figured, "Why not?" Little did she know, Dev had been smitten all along.
The very next day, Dev took a leap and asked Shresh out on a dreamy sunset picnic at Alamo Park followed by a cozy dinner. Determined to impress, Dev booked tables at not one, not two, but three restaurants!
Our whirlwind romance had us hanging out a few times a week until Shresh jetted off to London in the fall. Ah, the sweet taste of summer love!
LONDON & PROPOSAL
From Dev's POV
When Shresh relocated to London, we practically set records with our daily calls—sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. Throughout our tough year and a half of long-distance, we bridged the gap with adventures to Portugal, Mexico City, southern Utah and beyond, turning miles into memories. Despite our love blooming with each trip, the distance remained a challenging hurdle. They say home is where the heart is, and mine was definitely with Shresh. So, I took the plunge and relocated to London, a move that turned out to be the best decision of my life. Spending each day with Shresh, my partner-in-crime, fills me with pure bliss.
Fast forward to May 2023, when I schemed up a surprise picnic at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. The weather gods/apps promised a sun-kissed 70° day, but British weather had other plans, serving up a gusty 55°. Mid-picnic freeze, we traded our blanket for a cozy pub nearby. But not before I sneakily orchestrated a round of football catch with Shresh to “warm us up,” all part of the master plan to pop the question! Unbeknownst to Shresh, playing catch was my signal to our friends Mitra and Jasper, who were hiding in the bushes capturing the moment. After a few throws, I wrapped my arm around Shresh, sharing the significance of the Royal Observatory in our relationship.
The Observatory is the birthplace of the Prime Meridian line, and represents the Eastern Hemisphere (Shresh's family) meeting the Western Hemisphere (mine). As the home of GMT, it’s both the center and beginning of time. Expressing my desire for this moment to mark the beginning of our future together, I knelt down and proposed. Shresh responded with an ecstatic "YES".

Yes, this is very much a kid-friendly wedding! Your kids are more than welcome to join you. We’re still working with the venue to iron out details for available child care services, and we will share an update once details are confirmed. Stay tuned!
We’re anticipating most people will arrive the night before the first event (Oct 6th) or the morning of the first event (Oct 7th). If you decide to arrive early morning on the 7th and aren’t able to check-in earlier than 3pm, the resort will be happy to store your luggage near the front desk until your room is ready. Given that the first event on the 7th will start at 9:30 am, there are plenty of public restrooms around the property that can be used to freshen up/change while you wait. If you need to extend your reservation on the front end to arrive earlier than Oct 6th, please reach out to the hotel’s reservation team at reservations@lazambrahotel.com or by phone at +34 951311234.
ARRIVAL
We anticipate most people will depart the morning of the 10th. If you’d like to extend your stay beyond the 10th, you can do so with our booking link in the Booking & RSVP Instructions section.
DEPARTURE
The Spanish government requires that your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your departure date. For example, if you depart Spain on Oct. 10 2024, your passport must be valid until Jan. 10 2025.
PASSPORT VALIDITY
For those traveling from the US, UK, or Schengen-affiliated countries, a valid passport is typically sufficient.
For guests coming from non-Schengen-affiliated countries that do not have visa-free agreements with Spain (such as India or Vietnam), you will need to apply for a Schengen Visa to enter Spain.
Feel free to use this tool to get an overview of the visa/travel requirements when traveling to Spain.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is an international airport only 30 minutes (by car) from La Zambra, making it (by far) the closest airport to the venue. Other international airport options include Seville Airport (SVQ, 2.5 hour drive), Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD, 5.5 hour drive), Lisbon's Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS, 6.5 hour drive), and Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN, 9.5 hour drive). All airports have rental car services and are well-connected with short- and long-distance train connections to/from Málaga.
When booking flights, we recommend cross-checking prices on Kayak and Google Flights (at a minimum). If you fly into Málaga (AGP), we've noticed that Kayak typically offers more flight options at lower costs.
If you're interested in exploring the nearby cities of Málaga, Marbella, or Ronda, we recommend using Uber, Bolt, or renting a car from Málaga Airport. You can also request a taxi from the hotel concierge.
The number of plus one(s) we’ve allotted to your household will be indicated in your unique RSVP form. We’ve incorporated our latest knowledge of how many adults/kids make up your household. We’re not planning to allot any more plus ones at this point, but if we’ve incorrectly estimated your household count, please inform us right away, and we’ll update it accordingly.
Detailed instructions for how to book your accommodations are included in the Booking & RSVP Instructions section. As a reminder, our wedding code (G-WEDD) can be applied on Hyatt’s booking site for La Zambra.
Check out the Festivities section for more details on dress and inspiration links. The dress noted for each event is by no means a requirement, but rather a series of suggestions if you’re looking for guidance! We ultimately want you to wear whatever makes you comfortable.
All six of our planned events will be hosted at La Zambra. We want our guests to feel completely immersed in the experience, with opportunities to mingle with other guests in-between events. Selfishly, we would love to spend lots of quality time with you – our loved ones – for as long as you’re with us. We also understand that other priorities might not always make this possible, so if you decide to not stay on the property, please keep us informed of your alternative plans.
For any hotel reservation related enquiries, please reach out to La Zambra’s reservation team at reservations@lazambrahotel.com / +34 951311234. They will be your main point of contact until you check in. Once you check in, you will have the ability to contact the concierge desk directly from your room for all other queries. For anything else, please reach out to us (Shresh & Dev) directly and we will be happy to assist!
We value and welcome your warm wishes as we start this new phase of life together. If you’d like to offer another form of gift, a contribution towards our future plans would be truly appreciated. Please see our Registry page for more information on how to contribute.
Yes! Their booking system doesn't allow multiple discount codes, so you'll need to replace our wedding group code with your Hyatt Rewards number during checkout. If you book your stay using Hyatt Rewards points, please call La Zambra's Reservations team and tell them that you're part of our group reservation block (+34 951311234). This will help ensure you're included in all the festivities we've planned.
ACCOMMODATION INSTRUCTIONS
By clicking the "Book Stay" button below, our confidential wedding group code is automatically applied, giving you access to the discounted room rates for our guests and ensuring you're included in all the exciting events and festivities we've planned. You'll also be assigned a room in our block of rooms, so that you’re able to mingle with the guests more easily between events. Things to consider as you book your stay: 1) Our wedding party code should be auto-applied when you click "Book Stay". In the event it’s not applied, you should be able to add it on the La Zambra Hyatt’s booking site (Code: G-WEDD). 2) If you’re planning to stay at the wedding venue during the main wedding events (Oct 7-9), update the reservation dates accordingly and select your preferred room type. 3) If you’d like to extend your stay AFTER the events beyond the 9th, simply adjust the dates in the search view, click “Find Rooms”, and select your preferred room type. 4) If you’d like to extend your stay BEFORE the events, you’re able to do so using our link for a check-in date of October 6th. To book dates earlier than that, please continue the reservation online for any dates between Oct 6th and after. Then contact the La Zambra reservation team at reservations@lazambrahotel.com / +34 951311234 for assistance in extending your stay prior to Oct 6th. 5) Once complete, have your booking reservation # handy for the next step. We are thrilled to celebrate with you, and thank you for booking through our link to make the process seamless!
RSVP INSTRUCTIONS
Please use the “RSVP” link to express your interest in attending! You will then be routed to an external website (WithJoy) to complete the process. The form itself is pretty standard and straightforward. Once you indicate your plans to attend (for each member of your party), we ask that you please include your booking reservation # and check-in/check-out dates in the RSVP form. This will allow us to assist you better with queries and triage any issues that come up as we get closer to the wedding. We can’t wait to have you there!
